Disaster Services Mobile Kitchen Deployment

December 2001

On December 1st and 2nd the Capital Area Chapter deployed its Disaster Services Mobile Kitchen to Eastpoint in Franklin County to prepare and serve meals to individuals and families left without income due to the closing of Apalachicola Bay.

Apalachicola Bay Mobile Kitchen Deployment Three meals were prepared and served, lunch and supper on December 1st and lunch on December 2nd. A total of 996 meals were prepared an served.
Apalachicola Bay Mobile Kitchen Deployment An important part of the kitchen is the clean-up area. Here a 75 gallon gas hot water heater supplies hot water to wash and rinse pots, pans and everything else used in preparing meals.
