On January 29, 2001 the Capital Area Chapter participated in the Tallahassee Airport Disaster Exercise. From being crash victims to establishing a Family Assistance Center, 116 of the Chapter's Disaster Services Volunteers were involved in the day's events.

	The Tallahassee Fire Department's Mass Care Unit. This Mass Care Unit is for medical assistance, not feeding.
	Victims, victims and more victims. Tallahassee firefighters are kept busy responding to the medical needs of the victims. All the victims were Disaster Services Volunteers.
	As an important part of the Airport Disaster Exercise, the Chapter established a Family Assistance Center in the upper level of the airport. Here Dudley Griner prepares signage for the Family Assistance Center.
	The Family Assistance Center is where the Chapter provided Mental Health Services to the family members of the crash victims.
	Leonard Savary coordinates the Logistics function in the Family Assistance Center's headquarters.
	The headquarter staff included George Baragona who served as the Staffing Officer. The Family Assistance Center headquarters was the hub of activities during the Airport Disaster Exercise.
	A staffing/reception desk was established at the entrance to the Family Assistance Center. Here Disaster Mental Health Services and Staffing worked together as the gate keeper to the Family Assistance Center.
	In the Family Assistance Center Mass Care, Disaster Health Services and Disaster Mental Health Services worked together to comfort family members of crash victims in the Family Assistance Center.
