An important part of the Capital Area Chapter's Emergency Operations Center is its GIS/MIS Function. Here weather is monitored using a DTN satellite down-link and a Texas Instrument Weather Station located on the chapter's radio tower; damage assessment information is plotted in the computer and damage assessment maps are printed using the ARC-View GIS computer program and the web site is continually up-dated. |
