Hurricane Faith A Charitable Organization Tabletop Exercise

Exercise - Mission
With the mission of bringing North Florida's faith based, human service, association and cultural organizations
together to work through how paid staff and volunteers should collectively help the workplace plan
and prepare for, respond to, recover from and mitigate the effects of a
DISASTER,
the following organizations are undertaking the coordination of this very unique disaster exercise.
This four hour tabletop exercise will provide faith based, human service, association and cultural agency managers
along with their paid and volunteer staff an opportunity to learn the importance of working together
when disaster strikes. Participants will work within their workplace group as they undertake coordination
of activities such as disaster planning and preparedness, threat assessment, needs assessment and
continuity of operations.

Exercise - Method
Faith based, human service, association and cultural organizations from throughout
north Florida are invited to
participate in this exercise which will held on May 29 from 9:00AM through 1:00PM at the
Tallahassee Community College Capital Center located in downtown Tallahassee.

Organizations participating in the exercise are asked to recruit a minimum of two employees and /
or volunteers who would represent the entire agency.
During the exercise participants will be required to call various fellow employees, volunteers and
vendors to discuss action items that should be taken as the workplace plans and prepares for, responds
to and recovers from Hurricane Faith, so all participants are
requested to bring a cell phone and important phone numbers.
Exercise - Benefits
In addition to the lessons employees and / or volunteers will learn by taking part in this unique
exercise, each participating organization will receive a free BUSINESS
DISASTER RESPONSE KIT. Lunch will also be provided as part of this
important learning opportunity and useful door prizes will be given away.Exercise - Business Hazard Identification / Vulnerability Assessment
Organizations who participatee in Hurricane Faith
are asked to complete a Business Hazard Identification / Vulnerability Assessment (HIVA)
prior to the exercise.
