The Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross received its original Fire House from the State of
Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in the fall of 1998. By February 1999 its was traveling
to area schools and events to teach elementary age children home fire prevention and safety.
This 17 foot trailer was used for almost two (2) years until the purchase of the Fire/Weather House in May of 2001. During the summer of 2001 the original Fire House was given to the Martin County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
