Front Porch Frenchtown Disaster Mitigation Initiative
March 2003

During three (3) weeks in late March and early April 2003 nine (9) AmeriCorps Members from the National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) installed Hurricane Shutters on 21 homes in the Frenchtown community of Tallahassee as part of the Capital Area Chapter's Disaster Resistant Neighborhood initiative.

This initiative was a unique disaster mitigation initiative between the Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross, the City of Tallahassee and the Front Porch Frenchtown Revitalization Council.
