For the past several years the chapter's Disaster Services Office has conducted a Hurricane Season Training Blitz. The mission of three (3) day blitz has always been to offer five (5) basic Disaster Services courses in an effort to train new Disaster Services Volunteers. During the 2006 blitz the following Disaster Services courses were offered:

• Introduction To Disaster Services
• Shelter Operations
• Shelter Simulation
• Damage Assessment
• Logistics: An Overview

During the 2006 Hurricane Season Training Blitz 97 new Disaster Services Volunteers were trained.
