The Leon County Board of County Commissioners dedicated a September 11th 2001 Memorial
in the Rotunda of the Courthouse to forever remember and honor those who tragically died on that September morning. |

The front case of the four case display contains the American flag which flew above the
Courthouse on September 11th 2001 and a t-shirt worn by an officer of the New York Police Department while he
was working at Ground Zero. |

On display in one of the side cases are American Red Cross items from Ground Zero. Chris Floyd,
Emergency Services Director for the Capital Area Chapter, donated the hard hat and dust mask he used while on
assignment in New York City. |

The case with the American Red Cross items also contains a list of all of the American Red
Cross Disaster Services Volunteers from the Capital Area Chapter who were assigned to the Disaster Relief
Operations in New York City or at the Pentagon. This list includes:
