| Florida Masters of Disaster Implementation Project |
With assistance from Florida's American Red Cross chapters, the State of Florida Department of Education
Office of Safe Schools and the Florida Institute of Education have worked together on aligning the American Red Cross
Masters of Disaster curriculum with the Sunshine State
Standards. Age-appropriate copies of the Masters of Disaster curriculum kits were distributed to Florida's public
elementary and middle schools in the Fall of 2002. The curriculum is designed to help teachers integrate important
disaster safety information into their regular lesson plans for the core subjects in the list below.
