In response to the Attack On American disaster in New York City and Washington DC the Capital
Area Chapter assigned 74 of its Disaster Services Volunteers to three separate Disaster Relief Operations
setup up to support victims of these events. These are some of the photo taken by our Disaster Services
Volunteers while on assignment.

Marcia Arnold (Left) and Susan Cox (Right) were both assigned as Mass Care Technicians strike a

Both Marcia Arnold and Susan Cox were responsible for providing food, snacks and drinks off of
one of the 87 Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) assigned to the Disaster Relief Operation. Working out of one
of the kitchen they were faced with mountains of food cambros on a daily basis. |

Doug Dickinson a Mass Care Technician was assigned to ERV # 1062 and had the responsibility of
providing Mass Care feeding support to emergency workers at the Fresh Kill Land Fill on Staten Island. The land
fill was where all of the debris was transported to from the World Trade Center site. |

All of the Fire Trucks, Ambulances and even one American Red Cross ERV were taken to the land fill. |

Chris Floyd was assigned as the Service Center Manager for Service Center # 2 in lower Manhattan. |

The Service Center was located in the basement of the CSW Union Hall on the corner of Hudson St
and Harrison St. Each day over 100 clients were processed through the center. |

Cort Edwards was assigned to New York City as a Disaster Mental Health Technician. Working on an
outreach team he got up close and personal with Ground Zero. |
