Pandemic Pandemonium - A Neighborhood Tabletop ExerciseApril 21 2007Exercise - MissionWith the mission of bringing neighborhood residents together to work through how individuals and families residing within a neighborhood should collectively help the neighborhood plan and prepare for, respond to, recover from and mitigate the effects of an INFLUENZA PANDEMIC, the following organizations undertook the coordination of this very unique disaster exercise.
This four hour tabletop exercise provided neighborhood residents an opportunity to learn the importance of working together when an influenza pandemic or any other disaster strikes. Participants worked within their neighborhood setting as they undertook coordination of activities such as neighborhood volunteer assessment, health care planning and preparedness, influenza pandemic response and recovery.
Exercise - MethodNeighborhood residents from throughout Leon County were invited to participate in this exercise.
Neighborhoods participating in the exercise were asked to recruit a minimum of three residents to represent their entire community..

Exercise - BenefitsIn addition to the lessons neighborhood residents learned by taking part in this unique exercise, each participating neighborhood received a free INFLUENZA PANDEMIC RESPONSE KIT.
