Statewide Poster Contest Judging 1,137 posters representing 27 school districts from throughout Florida
were entered into the 2006 Hazardous Weather Awareness Poster Contest. |
Let the Judging begin!
The 14 members of the Judging Team were from the many organizations
sponsoring the 2006 contest. |
Posters were first spread out on the floor one county at a time. |
Then individual Judges would evaluate posters one at a time until a single poster was chosen
as the best for a given county. |
Then the process would move on to the next county. |
A few of the counties had over 200 hundred posters that had to be Judged. |
And so the Judging continues. |
Here Bob Goree, with the Tallahassee Forecast Office of the National Weather Services, review the
content of a poster. |

Judging Team members review a poster painted by a handicapped student
from Walton County. |
While the poster art work on was the first criteria being Judged
special attention was also given to the correctness of the message and spelling. |
And the process continued to move forward. |
After two hours of poster Judging it was time for everyone to
enjoy lunch which consisted of pizzas. |
Judging continued even during lunch! |
Almost there! The best poster from each of the 27 counties are ready to be Judged. |
