During the evening of Saturday December 15, the Capital Area Chapter's Disaster Services Office was contacted by the Colquit County Chapter in Moultrie Georga to report that a tornado had touched down in their jurisdiction. In the hours and days to follow, members of the Capital Area Chapter's Disaster Operations Management Team responded to Turner County (Ashburn) Georgia as mutual aid support to the Savannah Chapter. During the four (4) days of support to the Savannah Chapter, members of the Disaster Operations Management Team established a Disaster Relief Operation Headquarters in the Turner County Civic Center in Ashburn, coordinated the delivery of Mass Care (Mobile Feeding), facilitated Damage Assessment, began Client Casework and implemented the on-line Client Assistance System (CAS). After three (3) days in the field, the members of the Disaster Operation Management Team transitioned the operation over to the Savannah Chapter and returned to North Florida.
