Wilderness First Aid
This course meets the 2008 hiking season requirement for participation in the Boy Scouts of America Philmont Scout Ranch's backcountry or at the Double H High Adventure Base.
It is a 16-hour course designed to help in situations when help is not readily available -- away from the usual EMS service. Learn how to react in such delayed-help situations: how to contact help; prioritize care; treat injuries, illnesses, bites, and other conditions; transport and evacuate victims; and much more.
This class covers assessment and first aid techniques, no CPR. It is appripriate for any participant regardless of his/her experience level.
Fee: $100.00, includes Wilderness First Aid Student Guide, Mountaineering First Aid, and When help is Delayed.
