| Statewide Hurricane Zeus Exercise - Assumptions |
During the day long virtual exercise simulated advisories and intermediate advisories from the
National Hurricane Center were posted to the Statewide Hurricane Zeus Exercise web site. Each
of the postings contained important information on the location, wind speed and forward
movement of Hurricane Zeus. Along with each advisory and intermediate advisory, a county by
county listing of shelter demands was also posted.
Each chapter was e-mailed whenever an advisory, intermediate advisory or other exercise information was posted to the exercise web site.
Based on the information given in the advisories, intermediate advisories and other information posted to the Hurricane zeus Exercise web site, chapters were expected to place shelters on Stand-By , Open shelters, up-date shelter populations, consolidate and Closed shelters and then Open long term recovery shelters when appropriate, based on the chapter's Disaster Response Plan.
In addition, Hurricane Watch Activity Reports were submitted at 9:00AM and 4:00PM using the exercise timeline.
Human / Material Resource Requests were also made using the Hurricane Watch Activity Reporting web site.

For the exercise, four (4) days were compressed into one (1) normal 9:00AM and 4:00PM working day. The following matrix was designed to provide a Real Time timeline between the National Hurricane Center's Exercise Time advisory and intermediate advisory postings and the Real Time advisory and intermediate advisory postings.
Using the Real Time timeline an e-mail was sent to each chapter announcing the posting to the Hurricane Zeus Exercise web site of the National Hurricane Center advisories and intermediate advisories.
